Water power
Cone turbine
The new small hydro power station with big advanages
Technical data:
power range:
screw diameter:
0,3 - 80 kW:
500 - 2500 mm
Versions:
externaler generator
intergrated generator, with or without fixed route cone
Advantages of the cone turbine opposite to state of the art
- economical building method
- simple weir system
- no slide gate necessary (dependent on design)
- broad application scope
- also suitable for wathercourses without downward gradients with appropriate water speed
- only with piping systems is a rough rake necessary, otherwise none (fish, sheets and small branches go through the trubine)
- lonevity of the drive by the low turbine number of revolutions
- minimum interference into the landscape
- frame construction with drive: more easy access to the step-up gears and generators
- with frame construction: use of standard step-up gears and standard generators possible
- automatic power control systems at water fluctuations
- depending upon type there are little up to no plants noises
- no risk of fish and other aquatic animals
- turbines are suitable for decentralized power generation without long transport routes
- monitoring f all relevant turbine parameters centrally possible on radio transmission
- low payback time
- compliance with the European Water Framwork Directive 2000/60/EC for continuity of the river, depending on the size and local conditions in thier entrirety or with additional building actions
- compliance with the European Flora-Fauna-Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and feral animals and plants
- low construction volume
- material substitution by lighter materials
- possibility of integrating the generator
Operating conditions
Sufficient quantities of water in accordance with the flow and swallowing volume of turbine on
- size (ring cross-sction outside diameter / inner diameter
- configuration (in water guiding systems or free waters) and
- number of revolutions (depending on the turbine size and gear ratio and the nature of the energy output of the trubine)
Water speed: over 3,5 m/s possible (at full oncoming flow, turbine size 1000/500), smaller turbine types greater speeds, at usage of turbines smaller speeds are also profitable.
Fastening options for river bottom variant or anchoring for pontoons.
The shipping traffic is to consider.
Creation of fish stairs at variant with fixed route.
Possibilities of network supply (feed-in) or the use of the decentralized trunout of energy (island operation).
